The Longwood Beer, Wine & Cider Festival is a lot more than just Beer, Wine and Cider. This is a community day that involves some of the local community groups from our town, plus local food vendors, local and regional beer, wine and cider producers, plus we have Billson's Famous Cordials, great music for a range of tastes, and in 2019 we are planning some exciting entertainment for the kids (and for the kids at heart).
When we first discussed running this festival, we always wanted to keep it a community orientated event that gave back to our community. We also wanted to limit producers to our local and regional area, as well as showcasing the small to mid-size operators. We wanted to do something different from the commercial festivals and something that could show off the exciting producers we have in our area. Music was also a big focus for us in planning the festival, as we wanted to bring some different acts to the town, while also providing entertainment for a range of tastes. We have some exciting plans for music in 2019. We also wanted to bring new and returning visitors to our town and our region. Longwood and the Strathbogie Ranges are a great place to live and visit. A large majority of our patrons in 2018 were from outside our Shire. We hope to see everyone back on March 2, 2019 and make sure you bring your friends along also. #Longwoodfortheloveofale We are seeking funding in the PICK MY PROJECT grant initiatives, to make the 2019 festival even better than 2018. Please consider voting for our project by registering on the Pick my Project page and choosing our festival as one of your 3 votes. https://pickmyproject.vic.gov.au/
